Random Acts of Kindness

I haven't had the heart to write on my blog or post on Instagram after my last post. I think I felt like I there was nothing worth saying after that. Nothing as important to share. But something lovely happened the other day that touched my heart, and I felt compelled to share it.

I was on my way home from work, lookin like a gremlin as usual (I work at a kindy now, and I put almost no effort in my appearance anymore when I go to work ㅋㅋㅋㅋ), just lost deep in though on my longish commute home. The woman in the seat next to me on the bus gets up and gets off, leaving a space for a young woman to come sit next to me later. I didn't pay attention to her, as I was more interested in playing Summoner's War on my phone and staring out the window, but later I noticed she was staring at my screen.

I don't know about you guys, but that's a pet peeve of mine, and I feel like it's even more common here in South Korea, because people are curious about me as a foriegner and what I am doing in English on my phone. I was a bit irked until I noticed her phone which she had held out not far from mine. Homegirl was playing Summoner's War too! I took off my headphones feeling silly and asked her how long she had been playing in Korean. She told me that she had been playing for years in near perfect English. I was so hype!

We chatted a bit about the game, which characters we had, and TOA (sorry, only fellow summoners know what that is, hehe). My stop was coming up, and I was telling her how nice it was to meet her. She then went into her bag, and pulled out a little packet of Summoner's War stickers, and gave them to me 😭😭I was so moved!!

I asked her if she had a store, and she said no because she didn't wanna get sued ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ that she just made them for herself. But after seeing that I was a fellow summoner, she wanted to share them with me. We said our goodbyes, and I hopped off the bus. I don't know if she knows how much that interaction warmed my heart, but I hope to see her again someday and return the favor💕
